Site to Follow

So, thanks to Twitter, I discovered this website (from where I took the image) called DebtCometh.com. Here is the scoop.

Pseudonymous and his wife Whatchamacallit are newly weds battling their $135,000 debt using the principles they have and are learning from Financial Peace University and Dave Ramsey. Their website details their budget and goals and how things are coming along (Click HERE for their current budget).

They have just started this journey, so if you find it interesting to follow someone from -$135,000 to $0.00 and then sky high like I am, this is the one to follow. I can't wait to see their true identity and hopefully they will scream We're Debt Free on a Friday on the Dave Ramsey show.

Keep on trucking Mr and Mrs Pseudonymous! I will be following.

Dave Ramsey hates credit cards, but if you are going to be using them anyway, Clark Howard warns that rewards cards trick the brain to think that the rewards are a good reason to spend more.  Not a single millionaire got wealthy from the points, cash, airline miles, ect. that they get from credit cards.

Sure you can make it work (one caller has), but is it worth it?  People smarter than me do not think so.  Use cash.  From experience, it seems like you are really losing money when you pull a twenty dollar bill out of your wallet and break it to pay for a $4.00 coffee.  If you set up your budget and include some spending money, take it out as cash and then only use that cash on things for yourself, and keep in the back of your mind that every dollar that is left in your wallet at the end of the month can go into your savings account or go to pay off your minivan.
