Are you doing to have your house paid off in a year and a half? Or does that not count as a debt because you don't have to pay interest? Because that is totally cheating. ;o)

ReplyDeleteNo, Dave Ramsey doesn't require your mortgage to be paid off in order to scream "WE'RE DEBT FREE"... and we won't have our mortgage paid off in a year and a half. But we will (Lord Willing) have no credit cards and no car loans.
ReplyDeleteAh I see. We should be CC free in another year(but we aren't paying interest on anything) maybe a year after that we could be car loan free. But I know from past experience that it probably won't happen. Every time we've been debt free something happens to make us not debt free again. Major car repairs, lost job, etc. We've never made enough money to save up enough(quickly enough) to not get into debt again. But good for all you lucky people with good jobs.
