Ate our first edible egg from our chickens last night. It was purdy good. The picture to the left is what it looked like right after coming out of the chicken coop. I just had to brush off a pine shaving or two. I thought there would be poop all over it, because the nests are the chickens favorite spot to sit, and when they sit (or walk, or eat or anytime) they poop.
So there it is. A little small, but it's only her third. Then this morning there was a broken egg in the coop, so I think another chicken is starting to lay as well. That would be nice, because one egg didn't really fill me last night.
